During these times, B vitamins may be excreted more rapidly from our body, thereby increasing our requirement.
Where do we normally get this product from?

- DVs, established by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), are used on food and dietary supplement labels. For each nutrient, there is one DV for all people ages 4 years and older. Therefore, DVs aren’t recommended intakes, but suggest how much of a nutrient a serving of the food or supplement provides in the context of a total daily diet. As an example, the %DV for calcium on a food label might say 20%. This means it has 260 mg (milligrams) of calcium in one serving because the DV for calcium is 1,300 mg/day. If another food has 40% of the DV for calcium, it’s easy to see that it provides much more calcium than the first food. DVs often match or exceed the RDAs for most people, but not in all cases, as RDAs have been established for different ages, genders and lifestages. DVs are presented on food and supplement labels as a percentage. They help you compare one product with another.
- There are 8 B vitamins that are generally included in the B complex: thiamin (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pantothenic acid (B5), B6 (pyridoxine), biotin (B7), folic acid (B9), and B12 (cyanocobalamin). Learn more about the role B vitamins play in the body.
- It should be fine to take both just as long as the total amount of folic acid consumed daily from all sources (dietary and supplemental) does not exceed 1,000 mcg. Taking a higher folic acid dose may mask a vitamin B12 shortfall.
